Baby Blair

Springfield, MO

I met Shannon & Carrie in June for the maternity photos after communicating through email for several weeks.  These two were ecstatic and full of glow the second I met them, and were up for anything throughout the shoot.  As many know, we haven't exactly had a mild summer with these high temperatures.  So many of my shoots have been requested to remain indoors.  We did the majority in studio, but then they were more than willing to go down the road to some farm land for photos when it was easily in the mid to high 90's.  Talk about one happy and brave momma-to-be!

Their prints from the maternity session just happened to arrive the day before they went in to the hospital to be induced.  I had orders for both grandma's-to-be as well, so I made a phone call to one of the grandma's to make sure I could head up to the hospital.  I've never really went about photo order deliveries in this way before. : )  I decided to make Blair a hat to give the parents for when she arrived after Carrie had raved about my 4th of July hat on facebook I had made earlier in the month.

Turns out the hat was the only hat that fit Blair for the first two weeks so they were anxious to bring that to her newborn session.  It made me happy to know that they liked the hat so much I have to admit.  When I make those, I don't always know if they are going to fit well or if the color scheme is going to look as good on, as it does while I am making it.

So two weeks passed before I finally heard from Shannon & Carrie ready to schedule the session.  I was pretty worried that too much time had passed and I wouldn't be able to achieve the "newborn" poses.  HA, HA, HA....I was soooooo wrong!!!  This girl was one of the older newborns I have had, but slept through all the beginning poses with just her, AND was soooo easy to pose!

When you see these adorable poses that all the photographers do with these little newborns, let me tell you....this takes LOTS of patience, practice, and expertise!!!  But Blair, wowzers, she was like working with a baby doll, letting me pose her any way I wanted and slept every bit of the way.  Phew!  I guess that's what I get for worrying.  : )

Okay, so enough of all this babble....let's get to some of the photo's!

Back To School Special!!!

I don't know about you, but I'm never a big fan about the school's photographer selection.  It always seems like my kids are looking the other way, or have the hair messed up, something has spilled on the shirt, or that really cheesy smile that just simply does not look like the boys that I know and love so well!

Sure, you still need to get their photo done for the yearbook, but how about putting your money you'd spend on those cheesy smiling photos, towards photos that are special, genuine, and really show off their wonderful personality!   They are only little once, and I know how important it is to make these special times count.

So in honor of the kiddos starting yet another school year I would like to offer a Back To School Special!

Abigail

Well I had a first this past week...a one week old newborn baby who did not sleep one wink!  Miss Abigail did so good though and was such a beautiful baby girl.   Her parents wanted to have this session at their home rather than studio, which was a nice change for me.  She had a very lovely nursery to work with and they also requested using her daddy's drum set as one of the props.

Thanks Josh, Sherry & Abigail for such a wonderful time and allowing me to come in to your home after your first week home from the hospital!  I hope to get see you all again soon and be allowed to watch Abigail grow through the years.

Here are a few of the favorites from the session and one of the collages that I put together as well...

Taylor & Avery

These two little girls were just about as cute as can be.  I was welcomed into their home and these girls couldn't wait to show me their rooms, swing sets and how they could blow bubbles.  It was another scorching hot day, but like most kids, it didn't seem to bother them too much.  Thank you Taylor and Avery for being so sweet and kind!  I can't wait to see you both again very soon!!!

Kaitlynn

Three month old Kaitlynn is such a beautiful baby girl with the most angelic features.  Her Mom and Dad came prepared with several outfits to choose from and had also had the request for the shot of her with the reflection beneath her on the black background.  Kaitlynn made my job so easy and I hope to see her again soon!

Isaac & Spencer

These little guys were my second set of twins, and oh I loved them so!  They were around 8 weeks old when them came to see me, so not exactly newborns anymore, but still just as cute.  Isaac and Spencer already have 3 older brothers in the family, and their mother is amazing.  The entire time they were here she was so calm and relaxed and it seemed as though she knew what those babies were thinking before they did.  There was not one ounce of stress or concern....yep, I was in awe!  And when it was time for them to be changed, the mom and grandma had a system down before you could even blink your eye.  At the end of the session they were getting tired, so they each held one of the boys, I changed out some of my props and by the time I turned around, both, yes both of the boys were completely asleep...AMAZING!

Okay so enough of me drooling in words over this family...here are some of the photographs!

Isaac & Spencer, I absolutely cannot wait to see you both again and hopefully be able to watch you grow!
