Pixie Newborn Hat

As we continue to see winter, I just keep on creating more things to sell in between photo shoots.  Crocheting has become such a nice break from editing photos, and I like the mix of the two.  It's also a nice way to lend a hand to my fellow photographer friends because these hats make absolutely adorable photo props and not just for the newborns, but little kids of all ages!

This is the first pixie hat I have put up for sale.  It's a cream color with bits of green and pink throughout with even more green and pink worked into the braid.  The pixie hat has become a must-have prop for any newborn photographer and parents are quickly catching on to the fad as well.

This newborn size is $15.00 plus shipping.

Tracy

Tracy contacted me with the idea of having a calendar made for her husband as a Valentine's gift.  As we got to talking I became quite excited because the ideas were flowing and this was turning out to be along the lines of a "boudoir" shoot which was something I have been anxious to try.

I was able to talk with Tracy a bit and learned that her and her husband were just married last May and now would be leaving for Iraq.  This meant we were on a bit of a time crunch so that he would be able to take his gift with him when he ships out (8 days and counting as of today), so I squeezed her in the very next day.

Tracy was a bit on the nervous side to say the least, so we kept things very simple to start with and I used the opportunity to get to know her a bit better.  She was relaxed and ready to go very quickly...what can I say, I love to talk!  lol

This is one of the first photos we shot, and is also the image for January 2011 in her husband's calendar...why do you ask, because that is his coming back home month!   Ahhh, love that.

Before I continue showing some of the sneak peak photos, I just have to add that Tracy is 40 and very proud of that fact, as she should be!  She looks absolutely amazing...for any age.  I later found out that she also used to be a pilates instructor...hmmm, I'm thinking I should bust out my pilates tapes again!

After all of Tracy's hard work in getting things together and coming to the shoot, etc., she was looking at her gallery online a couple days later and who walks in and looks over her shoulder...yep you guessed it, her husband!  Of course he immediately wanted to know what the photos were for, so the surprise was no longer, and in no time he was in front of the computer picking out his favorites for "his" calendar!  Ah, oh well...at least we know he will like it.  : )

Tracy, I know your heart is breaking as you face having to part from your husband in just a short amount of days.  Stay strong in knowing he will be back home soon!  And if you are able to get the kids together this summer, I am just a phone call away and will be there, camera in tow!  : )

The Bruning Family

I met the Brunning Family last spring and then they revisited me for their Christmas card photos.  These girls are just as cute as they look in their photos!  And they really loved the tutu's, so hopefully they come back again soon so we can have a dress-up shoot.  I think they would have a blast with that!  (hint, hint Kristi...lol)  Here is a sneak peak of our time together...

To the Brunning Family, I hope you guys had an absolutely wonderful Christmas and Santa found his way down your chimney!  Thank you again for coming to see me, it was wonderful to see you and I hope to see you again very soon!

Hunter & Kirsten

Introducing Hunter Boyd Keck with his wonderful big sister Kirsten!  Kirsten is 14 months and little Hunter was only about a week and a half old.  I thought Kirsten was a good baby...Hunter seems to be following in his sister's footsteps!  Kirsten comes to see me often, and so hopefully I will now get to watch Hunter grow as well!

1st Annual Cutest Kid Contest

For the first time Heather Hoadley Photography will be having a Cutest Kid Contest. The contest will be divided up between 2 categories. One is newborn to age 3, and the second is age 4 and up. Each contestant will be emailed a form that they can then email out to all friends and family for them to enter their votes. The contestant with the most votes in each of the two categories will of course be the winner.

The winner will receive a FREE portrait session with a CD of all edited images (the most popular item these days) and also a 5x7 of their choice. The image that is chosen for the 5x7 will also be the image used for the contest.

The entry fee, which is only $20, provides up to a 30 minute in-studio session, a 5x7 of your choice, a 5 day online viewing gallery where you may also place orders if you desire, and an entrance into the Cutest Kid Contest!

The contest will run from January 2 through February 21, 2010, and the winner will be announced by February 26, 2010. If you are wanting to schedule a portrait session between these dates, you may also enter a photo from that session into the contest as well if you desire.

Hurry and schedule your session soon, this is a fantastic prize being offered, and a great chance for me to see some old faces again and hopefully meet some new ones too!
